Through Grandma’s Eyes: The Airplane

“It is easier to build strong children

than to fix broken men.”

-Frederick Douglass-

journal entry:

Being a grandmother is much more relaxing than being a mother.  Being a mother was full of joy and happiness.  Being a grandmother is full of those things too without the sleep deprivation.  Doing special things with little people is important.  Eudora Welty said that “the excursion is the same when you go looking for your sorrows as when you go looking for your joy.”  The excursion through parenthood and through the years of being grandparents is filled to the brim with both.  I love pictures of grown-up hands helping little hands.  It has such symbolism.  It is quite a duty to be a good Grandpa and Grandma.  Little children remember everything.

“Don’t find fault.  Find a remedy.”

-Henry Ford-
