(This is a small bin from the dollar store, filled with pinto beans for texture and big rubber bands for texture AND imagination along with some Ninja Turtles.  It can, of course, be filled with anything appropriate to age and budget and likely every home is filled with just such things. 

I would suggest a Sharpie also for writing on the box itself.
