As I grow older, I often think more about what I do before I do it. I wonder if it will take a lot of energy or if I will be able to finish in time or if it is really worth doing at all. When I start to think in this silly and self-defeating way, I DO SOMETHING. It doesn’t have to be something fancy or expensive, or something that takes a lot of time. There does not have to be a overriding reason for making it and giving it away. It can simply be that it feels good to do something nice.
If there was an urgent purpose in everything we did, we would not be very creative. Sometimes it is the unexpected nature of a little gift that cheers the heart.
