“You cannot do a kindness too soon,
for you never know how soon it will be too late.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
journal entry:
It was only sunscreen. But the photograph flew at me as if it had wings. No matter that the sunscreen is a little thick. Does anyone mind? He looks like he knows that she is performing a kindness for him. I remember when our kitty caught a fishing fly in her tongue. An otherwise combative and noisy kitty let Grandpa hold her on her back like a baby while the hook was removed. She didn’t squirm. She didn’t cry out. Even though she was just a kitty . . . she knew we were helping her. Facial expressions and body language tell us that this little grandson knows he is being helped. What would I do without a telephoto lens.
“Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned.”
