Gathered Together: Talents 2020

Grandpa said he had only one request.

He wanted an unplanned talent show. So, the parents herded their offspring into our little parlor where the piano lives and, starting with Tucker, each child made a contribution.

Clara plays the piano, sings with a beautiful voice and today tunes a ukelele for Maya using her smart phone.

Maya shared her instrument with Clara in exchange for the tuning which saved little Maya lots of money.

Clara’s voice lessons are a joy to her.

She has grown used to getting leads in school plays

She is an accomplished pianist.

Afton is ready for her next violin.

She keeps growing and improving and the violins keep shrinking.

Her first violin was very small.

Today she played a beautiful piece with a touch of  vibrato.

Henry’s piece was very modern and abstract.

I think he might have composed it himself.

Since his mother graduated from the U of U in Music and Piano, he has the advantage of being taught well along with his siblings Clara, Lydia, George and Tucker.

Quincy, Andrew and Owen also love to play the piano.

Owen loves to play Scott Joplin.

Everyone found something to share.

While I have photographs of everyone, I have included just a few to document this moment in our 2020 Family Gathering.

Maya played her instrument and sang You Are My Sunshine

in her soft and pretty voice.

There is nothing shy about Maya. Nothing.
