Lindsay’s Sunday Apron

This is an apron for Lindsay.  I was so excited that she asked me to make it.  It was SO fun !  She picked the colors but I picked the fabric since she is there and I am here.  She definitely wanted a washable apron rather than a “Fancy Nancy” apron.

My favorite store for the best-of-the-best quilting fabrics is little, old Broadbents.  On 100 East just off of Main. It has been in business in the same spot since 1885.  It’s true.  In fact, they have so many wonderful prints to choose from that I can never decide.  At least not quickly.  How about yellow and lime green?  That’s what she thought. Perfect.   There were so many fabrics in that color family to choose from !

I didn’t use a commercial pattern but asked her for a couple of measurements and made up the pattern from there.  I layered the bright fabric over the green and added rick-rack in three places.  I used home decor trim to make the pink flower which is pinned from behind the waistband so it can come off easily.  I sewed the fabric label on by hand and added the teeny-tiny heart which says “made with love”.
