Through Grandma’s Eyes: The Grandfather

“If you don’t know the trees you may be lost in the forest.

If you don’t know the stories, you may be lost in life.”

journal entry:

I don’t need to see anymore to know that Andrew is holding his Grandpa’s finger.  I love the tenderness of a photograph which shows the contrast of generations and the connections of family.  I love the way little people hold onto fingers.  Then they hold onto hands.  Then they climb on your back.  Then they run faster than you and you can’t hold onto them at all.  Someday, Andrew will be a grown-up.  Won’t he love knowing how tenderly Grandpa held him and how much he loved him?

“Whoever teaches his son

teaches not alone his son,

but also his son’s son,

and so on until the end of generations.”

-Hebrew Proverb-
