journal entry:
I am in the middle of re-decorating in “flea market style”. Grandpa is an incredibly good sport. Part of the “style” I am working towards includes the collection and decoration of world globes. My blog is like a journal. It helps me keep track of things I love and things I love to do. My globes generally are themed to remind me of spiritual things . Here are a few:
HAVE I DONE ANY GOOD IN THE WORLD TODAY?
( from a beautiful and thought-provoking hymn )
Have I done any good in the world today? Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad, or made someone feel glad,
If not, I have failed indeed.
Has anyone’s burden been lighter today because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
(For God So Loved the World, That He Gave His Only Begotten Son)
The above globe is decorated to remind me how much we are loved and what Christ did for us.
AND I SAY TO MYSELF . . . WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD !
( wonderful song by Louie Armstrong )
This is a small globe with roads leading here and there
just as you would expect in such a”wonderful world”.
( Near and Far . . . Home and Away )
FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT EXPERIENCE OF THE PROPHET ELIJAH
BUT GOD WAS NOT IN THE FIRE . . .
BUT GOD WAS NOT IN THE WIND . . .
BUT GOD WAS NOT IN THE EARTHQUAKE . . .
( and then )
A STILL, SMALL, VOICE.
