Time to decorate for Christmas again.
Old things in new places.
One year it is a village of bird houses.
The next year it is a globe collection with a Joy to the World plaque.
Bottle brush trees and ornaments and tea light candles
can be strewn about in so many ways
and are so shiny and sparkly and calm and bright.
Happy little bottle-brush trees are such an old-fashioned thing to collect.
This year the little penguins are on the table where little fingers can reach them. There has been only one wing injury which was promptly fixed with super glue.
Baby Jesus got new swaddling clothes and fresh straw for his manger.
But, he continues to sleep through all of the noise.
At night, when we are in bed, just as we are dozing off, we think we hear little penguin voices singing
GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST
AND ON EARTH, PEACE, GOOD WILL TOWARDS MEN
so we hum along until we fall asleep.
This year it’s a Charlie Brown tree.
-Grandma-
I love your Charlie Brown tree, it is so cute!
